5. The Worman House
(10 mi)
Most Branson visitors are aware of Big Cedar’s Top of the Rock, but many haven’t heard of The Worman House, Johnny Morris’s original purchase that started all of Big Cedar. The Worman House was built in 1921 by Mr. Worman, a railroad giant of the time who wanted a country getaway. The original house is the stage of the first fine dining restaurant of Johnny’s empire and is still serving not only five-star hospitality but killer cocktails, steaks, sides, and a fantastic wines-by-the-bottle list
We recommend: “The Gold Standard'' cocktail, “Baked French Onion Soup,” “Butter Poached Lobster Ravioli,” “Filet of Beef,” “Crispy Duck Fat Fries,” “Widow’s Kiss” cocktail, and for dinner, the “2016 Château Laroque Margaux Médoc Bordeaux.”
Pro tip: get there ahead of your reservation and enjoy a cocktail on the couches by the always-roaring wood-burning fireplace
